We are looking for enthusiastic employees for the season for Hungary's dynamically developing first rural zoo and only amusement park, who are not only efficient and good-natured, but also find it important that our visitors leave with a smile on their faces.

The position can be filled from April 2026.

Volunteers wanted!
The Debrecen Zoo, Botanical Garden and Amusement Park warmly welcomes applications from volunteer zoo enthusiasts over the age of 18 who would like to provide selfless help in their free time for the daily operation of the zoo.
We welcome all responsible, committed applicants who are interested in the special world of zoos, would like to get to know its inhabitants more closely, or perhaps help the zoo's educational and outreach activities.
Conditions of volunteering
- over 18 years of age,
- undertaking a minimum of 64 hours (approx. 8 days) of work per month with a schedule of 4 - 8 hours per occasion,
- the applicant must be healthy (no infectious diseases - medical certificate: family doctor + lung screening),
- assertive, confident, but polite demeanor, good communication and problem-solving skills,
- sense of duty (completion of undertaken tasks, adherence to schedule),
- as our Institution is visited by many foreigners, we are happy if someone also knows a foreign language,
- due to the nature of the tasks, pedagogical and biological qualifications are an advantage.
Tasks to be performed
- informing and guiding visitors,
- supervision of visitor behavior, supervision of animals,
- participation in the organization of zoo events (camps, press conferences, educational and other programs),
- assistance in preparing feed,
- arranging enclosures, environmental enrichment,
- park maintenance, horticultural tasks.

- applicants will be prepared for the activity to be performed (an informative presentation introducing our zoo and the tasks, safety training).
